AP Physics B: Ideal for biology majors and pre-meds. The course covers many aspects of Physics: Newtonian Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Fluids, Electricity, Magnetism, Waves, Optics, and Modern Physics. It is alligned most closely with California State standards, and the SAT II in Physics. Therefore, it is an ideal course for Juniors preparing for college admission. AP Physics B is an Algebra based course and does not require Calculus. Students must be confidence with Algebra, Right Triangle Trig, and Geometry.

AP Physics C: Ideal for physical science majors, such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, and related technical majors. The course is actually two separate college semester courses, Newtonian Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism. Material is presented at a greater depth than in AP Physics B, and problem solving involves Calculus. Students must be concurrently enrolled in Calculus or have completed Calculus in a prior year. The course is not alligned with California Standards or the SATII in Physics. Therefore, it is ideal for seniors (they do not test in either exam) who are looking for a head start on college.
