Advance Computer Classes Available to High School Students Free Through the ROP Program

High School students have the opportunity to take advantage of free advanced computer classes though the ROP program. Each year ROP adds new computer classes to respond to industry demands. Students learn through hands-on instruction utilizing state-of-the art equipment and techniques. Upon successful completion of the class, students earn high school credits that meet their graduation requirements. These advanced computer classes are taught at the ROP main facility in San Juan Capistrano, Monday Thursday, after school and evenings. The classes meet for eighteen weeks, the same as the high school semester. This semester ROP is adding a Network Security class and Unix/Linux: Fundamentals and Administration class. We also are offering Internetworking Level 2 (Cisco Academy), PC Hardware and Software: IT Essentials I, Network Operating Systems: IT Essentials II, and Voice and Data Cabling (Cisco). The Cisco and Security classes could cost $4000-$6000 at a technology school. For more information or to sign-up for a class, students should visit the Career Center on campus
