ROP-Regional Occupational ProgramROP and the Aliso Niguel Career Center ROP main website ROP offers a wide array of classes that students may take as part of their high school curriculum.ROP classes provide skill certification in a broad spectrum of career majors. Along with the traditional classroom, workplace learning opportunities exist within the program, where students combine classroom instruction with training at a job site. Students receive high school credit and many classes allow students to earn college credit as well. ROP Work Permits Work permit applications may be picked up in the career center. They must be signed by the employer and include the name of the workmen's compensation insurance carrier. A parent or guardian must also sign the application. A social security number is required to process a work permit. Students need to bring the application to the career center. Please allow one day to process your work permit. The completed work permit is picked up by the student and taken to his/her employer. Each new job requires a new work permit. The permit is made out to the employer. It's the Law! California law requires any student under the age of 18 to obtain a work permit. The hours a student may work vary according to age. 15 years and under:

Students enrolled in ROP CVE classes receive credit for their work experience and may be issued an extended work permit to work additional hours. These students attend class once a week for related instruction. CVE classes are offered in Restaurant, Retail and Business Technology. A student may earn 10 credits a semester for his/her work experience. College Links
