Saddleback College

Students may take classes at Saddleback College to further enhance their educational studies.

Should a student wish to use a SBCC course as his/her 5th high school class, the class must be from the Approved Concurrent College Studies Course List. The course will appear on the high school transcript, the grade will count in the GPA and it will not be weighted.  Students must also complete the Saddleback Contract saying they will not be able to drop this class.  Please see your advisor for the contract.

Students must download and complete the Special Admission Request K-12 Students Form from the SBCC website.  Signatures must be obtained from their academic advisor as well as a school administrator before the registration process can begin at SBCC.

Courses taken at Saddleback in the summer to ACCELERATE in subjects required for high school graduation (ie. US History 17) must be placed on the high school transcript and credit will not be weighted.

Visual and Performing Arts requirement for four-year college admission:
If a student takes a Visual/Performing Arts class at Saddleback college to meet the one year college admission requirement, the student will be asked to provide an unofficial copy of their final grade in that class to the registrar at Aliso Niguel to confirm completion of that requirement.

Important Note:

Some colleges and universities may not accept college course work for transfer credit if that course appears on your high school transcript. If you do not need the credits in any way for graduation, it is often best to simply take the class and not list it on the high school transcript. Later, you can list it on your college application and send an official transcript directly from Saddleback college at the appropriate time.
